The length of this gorgeous necklace is 16 1/4" when clasped. The diameter of the heishi is an absolutely uniform 3/32", giving this piece (as with all of Raymond and Barbara's work) the classic 'snakeskin' feel of fine heishi.
Sixty hand-carved olivella shell birds decorate this unusual two-strand necklace from the award winning heishi-making team of Raymond and Barbara Garcia. Fine olivella shell heishi separates the birds. The shells Raymond and Barbara selected for this piece each display the colors of peach at one end and classic dark olivella at the other, and the birds are carved in such a way that the heads are peach and the tails are dark. The neck is finished with silver hardware. A very handsome piece.

The turquoise is a beautiful aqua in color, and incorporates a variegated warm brown matrix.
